Description | At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Statement of pre-qualification shall be submitted no less than 10 days prior to the bid opening. The Project includes the following Work: Approximately 2,920 L.F. of 24" Class 56 Ductile Iron Water Line of various types including a subaqueous crossing of Norris Lake, 6 each of 24" Butterfly Valves, 2 Fire Hydrant Assemblies and various appurtenances. Bids are requested for the following Contract: RURAL DEVELOPMENT WATER LINE IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT H NORRIS LAKE CROSSING RGC Project No. 16807 Owner anticipates that the Project's total bid price will be approximately $6,536,500.00. The Project has an expected duration of 750 days. All Bidders must obtain contract documents from the office of Robert G. Campbell & Associates. Bidders that do not, will have their bid rejected. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office. Cost does not include shipping charges. Upon Issuing Office's receipt of payment, printed Bidding Documents (plans only), electronic documents on compact disc or PDF files will be sent via the prospective Bidder's delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method chosen. Bidding Documents are available for purchase in the following formats: Format Cost Bidding Documents (CD containing Specs/Plans and Full-Size Drawings) Must be requested in advance if obtaining in person $200.00 Compact Disc containing Bidding Documents in portable document format (PDF) $200.00 Bidding Documents sent via email to contractor $200.00. The Alternate Bid lay schedule must be submitted two weeks prior to the bid opening to receive engineering approval. Please see Article 13 Basis of Bid in the Instructions to Bidders portion of the specifications for more details. All Bidders must be licensed Contractors as required by the Contractor's Licensing Act of 1994 (Latest revisions). Bidder's name, address, license number, license limit, expiration date and that part of classification which applies to the Project(s) and the name, address and licensing information for Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical Contractors must be on the sealed envelope containing the executed Bid Proposal. All required items must be listed, with any item(s) that are not applicable to the Project in accordance with the Regulations to be marked "not applicable to this project." In compliance with the act, sealed envelopes will not be opened unless all required information is properly displayed. For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents. American Iron and Steel Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A - Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. The term "iron and steel products" means the following products made primarily of iron or steel: lined or unlined pipes and fittings, manhole covers and other municipal castings, hydrants, tanks, flanges, pipe clamps and restraints, valves, structural steel, reinforced precast concrete, and Construction Materials.
