Description

A new trail project will connect Providence Landing to the Ohio River Greenway along the levee parallel to Silver Creek. The trail will begin at the existing parking lot under the Spring Street bridge and end at the Ohio River Greenway trail near the New Albany Loop Island Wetlands. Besides a new 12-foot-wide asphalt trail at the top of the levee, work will also include 6-foot-wide concrete walks providing pedestrian access to neighborhoods in two locations. Limestone block walls will be used where the trail descends the levee towards the Ohio River Greenway trail. Several pedestrian nodes will provide limestone benches, bike racks, and lighting. Limited landscaping will also be included.
