Description | UPDATE : https://cdn5-hosted.civiclive.com/UserFiles/Servers/Server_12410832/File/Departments/Fiscal%20Services/Budget.pdf A detailed scope has not yet been determined. Project is included City of College Station FY 2023 - 2027 CIP Page 278. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This existing large diameter water line is a 42-inch Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipe (RCCP) that was constructed in 1983. Staff considers this main as one of its most critical distribution lines within the City's water system, as it is a direct line out of the DRPS that essentially serves the southern portion of College Station's water CCN. The existing pipe material of this line is difficult to repair and requires specialized contractors and equipment out of the greater Houston area. The 2015 water master plan also shows that a 24-inch waterline is needed for future build-out that will parallel the existing 42-inch waterline. Staff recommends that a redundant parallel large diameter line be installed to allow better overall hydraulic operations in the system, as well as decrease potential longer duration outages to a large group of customers. As of September 8, 2021, this project is currently in the FY 2021-2026 CIP. Information regarding design team and contractor selection has not been disclosed. A firm timeline has not been established. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available. |
