Description

Project scope includes but is not limited to: asbestos abatement in basement, exterior masonry restoration, roof replacement, upgraded lighting and security wiring, cut and patch selective demolition, new windows on basement level, door hardware, selective flooring and painting upgrades, remove/reinstall of condensers on roof, removal of existing air conditioning units and reinstallation of new air conditioning equipment, upgrade buildings electrical service to 3 phase service power. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. The proposed work is more than simply an enhancement to the building but is in fact a structural necessity as the current addition is pulling away from the original structure. This investment therefore serves to restore this important landmark, protect it structurally, and establish a stronger community center with a regional draw. All of these benefits will attract visitors and help to establish downtown Amsterdam as a destination for cultural events and activities. The expanded library will include a new business incubator, STEM education facility, and multiuse community room complete with stage, screen, and sound and light equipment. The project was announced as part of $10 million in state grants and other assistance through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). *Project information, including timeline and contacts, has been obtained through public sources. The content management team continues to pursue additional details; however, the contact(s) listed have yet to disclose or confirm any information. Inquiries should be directed to the contact(s) listed.
