A/E Services For John A. Logan Community College Expand West Lobby

The scope of work provides for the expansion of the existing west lobby, including the demolition of the existing exterior ramps, planting beds, stairs, walks and railings. The new lobby will be created in the footprint of the current concrete walkway and porch. This two-story expansion will cover approximately 8,200 square feet on the first level and will better define the main entrance and create a public gathering space. The expanded lobby will require the demolition of existing exterior elements. The exterior aesthetic needs to blend with the existing campus. New HVAC systems and ductwork will be required for the addition. The College's existing electrical systems, data and communications systems and other special systems will be extended to serve the new areas of the College. The existing concrete walks and drives will be modified to serve the new addition as necessary. A minimum of LEED Silver Certification is required. The A/E will need to determine if any components of this project are eligible for a utility company or other energy grant/rebate and will be responsible for preparing and submitting the grant application if the project qualifies for the rebate. The interviews for this project are tentatively scheduled for October 29, 2020. The project from this Bulletin is scheduled to be presented at the November 10, 2020 Board Meeting.
