RFQ Design - Ag Engineering - HVAC Upgrade

This project will replace and enhance the HVAC systems in rooms 145, 156, 158, 164, and 166 at The Ohio State University Agricultural Engineering Building (0298). These spaces total almost 17,000 GSF of high bay instructional spaces consisting of large farm implement repair, wood shop, welding shop, small engine repair shop, and equipment repair classrooms. These spaces are not currently air conditioned but are heated in the winter months and exhausted when operations are taking place within the space. The current HVAC system for these rooms consist of five (5) individual air handling units (AHU), located in the mezzanine area of rooms 144 and 147. The purpose of this project is to replace the five (5) existing AHUs and add cooling to these spaces. Project scope will also include hot/chilled water piping, fan variable frequency drivers (VFD), direct digital controls (DDC), roof penetrations, and electrical work for the new units. This project will be coordinated with the new Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP) and the District Heating and Cooling (DHC) projects taking place on The Ohio State University Campus. By bringing hot and chilled water into the building, these separate projects that will enable the upgrades.
