Description

The work included within this Contract consists of furnishing all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies required, in accordance with the contract documents, approved permits and as directed by the Engineer, to perform and complete the construction of six water control gates to be installed at the upstream end of the existing culverts along the south side of SW 344th Street (Palm Drive) right-of-way within the existing ditches between SW 127th Avenue and SW 112th Avenue, to divert water from the Florida City Canal to the Model Lands for the purpose of wetland restoration and reduction of saltwater intrusion. The project includes the removal of the existing headwalls and installation of new concrete headwalls for the mounting of the proposed gates along with the associated aluminum pipe guiderails, and extension of the six existing culverts. Sediments within the existing ditches and within the limits of work shall be removed and disposed by the awarded Contractor for the maintenance and restoration of the ditches. In addition, a total of two (2) manatee grates shall be installed on two existing pipes that are 24 inches in diameter corrugated metal pipe located within the Florida City Canal right-of-way.
