Description | The Contract consists of a single contract for storm sewer installation, street excavation and base course construction, street asphalt pavement construction, curb & gutter and sidewalk construction. The Contract consists of these units: 12-inch and 15-inch RCP Storm Sewer (205 lineal feet), Hot-Mix Asphalt Pavement (335 tons), 24-Inch Concrete Curb & Gutter (650 lineal feet) and Concrete Flat Work (3,500 square feet). The quantities and the main sizes are subject to change without notice prior to document distribution. Bidders must be pre-qualified with the Town of Three Lakes within the last year or must be pre-qualified for this work 5 days prior to the bid deadline in accordance with Section 66.0901 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The Town of Three Lakes reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive informalities in any bid. Each bidder must deposit, with his bid, security in the amount of 5% of the maximum bid amount. Bidders must be experienced in municipal pipeline construction. SUMMARY A. This section summarizes the work covered by the contracts, defines special conditions peculiar to this project which modify the technical specifications, and established criteria for measurement and payment of individual bid items. This section is not intended to be all-inclusive. Contractors should closely review the standard technical specification sections and the plan sheets. B. Section Includes: 1. Work description. 2. Measurement and payment criteria for individual bid items. 1.2 WORK DESCRIPTION A. This project consists of reconstruction of West School Street from Superior Street to Anderson Street. Includes excavation to subgrade, adding 10-inches of 3/4 " base course, shaping, and compaction to produce acceptable drainage installation of concrete curb & gutter, concrete flatwork, 3.5-inch hot-mix asphalt surface paved in two layers, and storm sewer installation. 2 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing. |
