Description

Project includes all labor, materials, and equipment necessary for the construction of a free-standing preengineer metal building, 21,000s.f. in size with 22 foot tall eaves, overhead doors, walk doors, steel siding and steel roof system. The building shall be a slab-on grade with a vehicle storage/maintenance area, drivethru wash bay, staff rooms, mechanical rooms and upper-level equipment storage. Site improvements include water service, storm sewer system, sanitary sewer system connecting to existing infrastructure, concrete site pavement, and site demolition. All mechanical, plumbing, and electrical shall be included as per drawings and specifications Each bid shall be sealed and plainly identified and made part of the proposed Contract Documents. Bids shall be submitted on the Bid Form included in the Bid Documents with the Bidder Status Form and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security as set forth in the Instruction to Bidders. Bid Security shall be by a bid bond, cashier's check or a certified check drawn upon a solvent bank charted under the laws of the United States of America. The County will issue a sales tax exemption certificate applicable for all materials purchased for the project. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Amount. Davis-Bacon Wages will not apply to this project. In accordance with Iowa statutes, a resident bidder shall be allowed a preference as against a nonresident bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country gives or requires any preference to bidders from that state or foreign country, including but not limited to any preference to bidders, the imposition of any type of labor force preference, or any other form of preferential treatment to bidders or laborers from that state or foreign county. The preference allowed shall be equal to the preference given or required by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. In the instance of a resident labor force preference, a nonresident bidder shall apply the same resident labor force preference to a public improvement in this state as would be required in the construction of a public improvement by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form with the bid may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa Bidders shall not be permitted to withdraw their bids for a period of thirty (30) days after the same are opened. No oral, facsimile, telegraphic or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Cerro Gordo County may make the award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. Cerro Gordo County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities or technicalities in any bid and to enter into such contract as it shall deem for the best interest of Cerro Gordo County.
