Description | Damage: B-phase windings shorted due to water intrusion, excessive corrosion/rust on access cover lid and frame. Failure report attached. Transformer refurbishment must include but not limited to the following: Provide transportation to pick up transformer and transport to repair facility. Remove lid and remove oil. Disconnect all leads, bushings, gauges, switches and accessories. Detank core and coils. Perform internal inspection, remove frame and structure Un-stack core steel and tear down of HV & LV windings for data. Rewind HV & LV windings in copper. Place windings in press and bake in oven for epoxy curing and clean core steel and frame. Assemble new windings and core steel. Replace all insulation, install frame and perform pretests. Place core and coils in oven for moisture removal and clean interior of tank and radiators. Inspect all bushings and insulators and replace all gaskets. Test and inspect all gauges and accessories and replace drain valve with sampler. Test and inspect cooling fans, wiring and hardware and replace oil level gauge. Replace pressure/vacuum gauge. Replace oil temperature gauge with control cable. Clean and inspect control box and controls. Repair all rust on lid. Replace access cover and hardware, replace radiator support brackets and retank core and coils into tank. Reconnect all leads, bushings, gauges, switches and accessories and perform connection tests. Weld lid into place. Hot oil vacuum fill with 1,098 gallons new mineral oil and pressure test. Perform final testing: (TTR, megger, resistance, winding resistance, no load, load loss, impedance, hi-pot, power factor and oil). Clean, prep, prime and paint (will prime with epoxy 2 - part primer). Apply rubberized undercoating to bottom and sides of transformer. Deliver back to customer facility at 1374 Recreation Road, Patrick AFB, FL 32925. Warranty: Transformer refurbishment must have minimum 3-year warranty with an additional 2 years of workmanship warranty for leaks. |
