Installation of New Water Facilities

1) This contract covers the general contracting services for the installation of new water mains, services and facilities within the City Richmond water distribution system. This contract will also include some repair work and certain emergency services. 2) The new mains and services may vary in nominal diameter size from 5/8 inch service lines to 42 inch transmission water mains. New water mains will be ductile iron or polyethylene as needed for sizes greater than two (2”) inches and copper or polyethylene for sizes two (2”) inch or less. 3) The City of Richmond, Dept. of Public Utilities expects to install 45,000 linear feet of water main each year under this contract. Additional quantities of water main may be installed based on funding availability. On this contract no "Mobilization" will be paid.
