Description | Salt Lake City Corporation is soliciting competitive sealed proposals from qualified consultants with expertise in General Obligation (GO) Bond engagement to educate the public on the upcoming bond in 2022. The community outreach will be for a $80 million bond that will be voted on by Salt Lake City residents in November 2022. GO Bond funding is necessary for implementation of the Reimagine Nature Master Plan. Funding is needed to construct and reconstruct, develop and equip additional parks and park facilities, build and add urban trails. Robust and effective public engagement will be crucial to garner adequate support for the GO Bond and the implementation of critical Public Lands projects. Public Lands is seeking engagement assistance to advocate and educate the public about the bond benefits to meet current and future open space demand, as well as the air and water quality needs of the City. The efforts of this engagement will create City-wide understanding and talking points around the importance of the bond and the benefits it will bring. This project will help mitigate any confusion about why the City is interested in a bond and our intentions in how the funds will be spent. It will make clear what the budget impact will be. Engagement Methods (Must be available in English and Spanish, with translation provided by a certified translator. Information on accessing a certified translator may be provided by Public Lands): 1. Face-to-face conversations, project web page, Facebook Live(s), Community Council presentations, event tabling, intercept surveys in parks, business group presentations, stakeholder meetings, board and commissions messaging 2. Video/Social on value of Public Lands 3. Ads, signage, paint stencils, logo, social media hashtag Listed below are examples of ways the City traditionally engages with the public. Consultant is encouraged to propose innovative, best practice methods of engaging with the public to help improve the effectiveness of civic engagement efforts, particularly with respect to conducting equitable community engagement and outreach: o Community conversations, engaging people who naturally interact with the parks and public lands such as nearby residents, students, park visitors, etc. o Stakeholder meetings, focus groups, or other ways of engaging key stakeholders. o Online questionnaires, surveys, etc. o One-page, visually oriented outreach materials to be disseminated by Public Lands staff to potentiallyimpacted communities; and o Community Council presentations and materials The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
