Description Building 539, Phase 2 Refurbishment and Infrastructure Upgrades: completion of Refurbishment and Infrastructure Phase 2 Upgrades in building 539. The work covers the construction of the Building 539, Phase 1 Refurbishment and Infrastructure, as described on these contract documents. The work generally involves the following; 1. Demolition of identified existing work in preparation for new construction 2. Modification to the building roof structure to accommodate new air-handling equipment and related items, and maintenance of weather protection during this work. 3. Rooftop ductwork, related supporting structures, and weather protection. 4. Renovations to the first floor Phase 1 areas shown 5. Construction of related work in the second floor, attic, and other areas of the building The work shall be phased to minimize the effects on Leidos Biomed ongoing operations that will continue through construction. Temporary services shall be provided where indicated and where required. The work shall be constructed as a single project, but shall be identified as 'refurbishment' and 'infrastructure' for billing purposes. Generally, the work performed above the plane of the attic floor shall be regarded as infrastructure work. Work on the first floor, plus work on the second floor related to LAN Room 289B, shall be regarded as refurbishment work. The work in other areas of the building, on the roof, and outside the building shall be regarded as infrastructure work, including the following; a. Attic mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical work, b. Rooftop ductwork and related structural support work, c. Outdoor AHU, foundation sidewalks, and related work, d. Testing and Balancing, and Commissioning, e. Ducts, pipes, and electrical circuits passing through the first floor that serve the attic and second floor.
