Description | Sealed proposals will be received from Bidders by the County of Leavenworth for the furnishing of all material and labor necessary to construct new parking lot and make improvements to the Leavenworth County Cushing Building parking lot. Said program to include, but not limited to, asphalt pavement, curb & gutter and other appurtenances to complete the project, as described in Plans and Bid Tab provided by SMH Consultants. Contractors will be notified of the results within 10 days after the date set above for the bids to be opened. The Contract shall be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, but the County of Leavenworth reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or irregularities in bids. Each bid shall be made on a printed proposal form included with these documents. Bids shall be submitted in sealed envelopes and shall be marked Parking Lot Construction and Improvements Leavenworth County Cushing Building. All proposal forms shall be properly executed by an officer of the firm making such proposal. Bids received after the time and date above specified shall be returned, unopened, to the Bidder. Each bidder shall file with his bid a bid bond, cashier's check or a certified check drawn on an acceptable bank, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of his bid. Non-resident corporations that are not already registered with the Kansas Secretary of State and all non-resident individuals and partnerships are required by law to register with the Director of Revenue, State Office Building, Topeka, Kansas, and to pay a fee of Ten Dollars ($10.00) for each and every contract as a precedent to commencing work on the contract. For contracts in excess of Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) the foreign contractor shall file with the Director of Revenue an acceptable bond in an amount of ten percent (10%) of the contract. |
