Description

No Bids were previously received. The Work consists of the following: Construction and or installation including site clearing and grubbing, selective demolition, staking, layout, erosion control, earthwork, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water, partial removal and re-installation of existing artificial turf athletic field system, concrete, gravel paving, pre-engineered segmental retaining wall system, track surfacing and markings, re-location of existing football goals, new restroom and picnic shelter building, new maintenance building, and ancillary work illustrated in the contract documents. The scope of work consists of re-positioning the existing artificial field turf, goal posts, and storm drainage system to accommodate a new 6-lane running track. Work also includes replacing an existing restroom building with a new restroom building, plaza area, perimeter walks, playground improvements, landscaping, and other ancillary improvements. Deadline to Submit Questions Friday, March 17 at 3:00pm All questions concerning this Advertisement for Bids should be submitted via email to: Jeff Ashbaugh jashbaugh@benesch.com Rebecca Cipriano, Project Manager rcipriano@ashevillenc.gov The award of the Contract will be made to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder, who, in the opinion of the City, is qualified to perform the work required and is responsible and reliable. When Alternate Bid items are required in the Bid, the Contract will be awarded to that responsible Bidder whose Bid for the Alternate or combination of Alternates, selected by the City, is the lowest. Miscellaneous Requirements of the Bid: All bids must be submitted on the form of Bid Proposal provided. All bidders are required to submit cash, a cashier's check, or certified check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid proposal. In lieu of said money, the bidder can submit a bid bond executed by a corporate surety licensed in North Carolina to execute said bonds. This deposit shall be retained be retained if the lowest responsible bidder failed to execute the contract within ten (10) days of the award or fails to give satisfactory surety as required in North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129. All bids and bid bonds shall be sealed in a minimum of two (2) separate envelopes and shall not be opened prior to the time set for the bid opening. Until bid opening time, the City may return the bid to the bidder for modification or change-out of bid. No bid may be withdrawn after bids have been opened, except as provided in North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129.1. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Those bonds shall meet the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129 and of Article 3 of Chapter 44A of the North Carolina General Statutes. The City of Asheville reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
