Description | Location 1 West Neuse Interceptor Improvements: This project involves the construction of approximately 25,400 LF of 66- and 60-inch sanitary sewer pipe along the Neuse River in Wake County, with the downstream end of the project located at Anderson Point Park. The project requires one open cut crossing of the Neuse River, two trenchless crossings beneath NCDOT controlled access roadways and the Carolina Coastal Railway, construction in residential areas, construction along an active greenway, and most of the construction is in flood plain area. The total estimated cost of construction is $38 million. This project is expected to advertise for construction in the Summer of 2020 and the construction contract period is expected to be 720 days. Location 2 Upper Walnut Creek Interceptor: This project involves the construction of approximately18,800 LF of 60-inch fiberglass-reinforced polymer and reinforced concrete fiberglass lined gravity sanitary sewer installed by open cut with approximately 80 polymer concrete and T-Base manholes and approximately 6,700 LF of 8-inch through 12-inch tributary sanitary sewer pipe along Walnut Creek in Wake County, North Carolina upstream of the Walnut Creek Softball Complex at Sunnybrook Road. The project includes 300 LF of 62.90-inch OD fiberglassreinforced polymer jacking pipe installed by microtunneling under Sunnybrook Road and Rock Quarry Road. The total estimated cost of construction is $28.8 million. This project is expected to advertise for construction in the Fall of 2020 and the construction contract period is expected to be 540 days. Location 3 Neuse River East Parallel Interceptor: This project involves the construction of approximately 26,000 LF of 96- and 84-inch fiberglass-reinforced polymer gravity sanitary sewer pipe along the Neuse River in Wake County, North Carolina from the City of Raleigh Neuse River Resource Recovery Facility to Anderson Point Park. The project requires two open cut crossings of the Neuse River, two hand excavation tunnels with liner plat beneath NCDOT roadways, abandonment of two existing sewer lift stations, construction in residential areas, and most of the construction in flood plain area. The total estimated cost of construction is $75 million. This project is expected to advertise for construction in the Summer of 2020 and the construction contract period is expected to be 730 days. |
