Description

Reconstruct North Apron including grading, erosion control, milling, full depth reclamation, asphalt overlay, tack coat, pavement markings, aircraft tie-downs, airfield lighting demolition and relocation, drainage improvements and related incidental items. The contract time for the Bid is 259 Consecutive Calendar Days. Contractors shall commence construction withing 120 consecutive calendar days from the Notice to Proceed and shall complete all work within 139 consecutive calendar days after construction commencement date. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 will be assessed for each consecutive calendar day thereafter. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend the pre-bid conference and perform a site visit of the project area prior to bidding. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi Board of Public Contractors establishing classification as to the value and type of construction work on which he is authorized to bid. The Contractor is required to comply with wage and labor provisions and to pay minimum wages in accordance with the schedule of wage rates established by the United States Department of Labor. This project is subject to the requirements of 49 CFR Part 26 Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Participation. The owner has established a contract goal of 11.03 percent participation for small business concerns owned and controlled by qualified disadvantaged business enterprises (DBE) but encourages that the bidder seeks participation of these businesses.
