Description

The proposed water treatment plant improvements will consist of replacing the existing 600 GPM jockey pump with a 1,200 GPM constant speed pump, installation of (1) new 1,200 GPM pump on a variable frequency drive (VFD), and installation of (2) new generators to provide backup power to the Water Treatment Plant; and all other appurtenances necessary for the complete of project. Bidders shall submit with their bids a Cashier's Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum total bid, payable to the City of Lockhart, Texas without recourse, or a Bid Bond in the same amount from an approved Surety Company as a guarantee that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the award of Contract. Bids without check or Bid Bond will not be considered. The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payments Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner. Please submit questions for this project forty-eight (48) hours prior to bid opening through website in the Q&A portal. All addenda issued for this project will be posted on website. It is the responsibility of the Contractor bidding to use proper scaling, paper size, etc., for bid quantities. Failure to do so may result in error in the Unit Bid Quantities and/or Bid Amounts. The City Council of the City of Lockhart reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. No bid may be withdrawn within ninety (90) days after the date on which bids are received The selected Respondent will be the general contractor for the Project, which is the construction of Water Treatment Plant High Service Pump Station Expansion. The City anticipates the following items will be included in the scope of the Project: replacing the existing 600 gpm jockey pump with a 1,200 gpm constant speed pump, installation of (1) new 1,200 gpm pump on a variable frequency drive (VFD), and installation of (2) new generators to provide backup power to the Water Treatment Plant; and all other appurtenances necessary for the complete Project. The Project will be designed and constructed so as to meet all applicable federal, state, and local accessibility standards. The selected Offeror may be required to perform some or all of the following pre-construction and construction services. Preconstruction Services may include, but not necessarily be limited to, planning and value engineering the Work. Construction Services may include, but not necessarily be limited to, all work associated with construction, occupancy and warranty of the facilities. The Work includes, but is not limited to: 1. Installation of two (2) new 1,200 gpm vertical turbine pumps. 2. Installation of two (2) new emergency generators. 3. Site piping. 4. Electrical. 5. Miscellaneous appurtenances necessary for the complete Project Estimated maximum construction budget is approximately $1,000,000.00. This includes all incidental and contingent expenses associated with the construction of the Project.
