In May 2022, the City completed the construction of a new 15,000 square foot multi-modal transportation facility located at 1300 N Marine Blvd in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Jacksonville Station serves as the central hub for various modes of transportation in the region, including the City's fixed bus route, Greyhound, Amtrak, taxi service, Uber, Lyft, and connection to bicycle and pedestrian trails. Jacksonville Transit is the municipal transit system that provides local fixed-route bus service within the City of Jacksonville and parts of Onslow County. Jacksonville Transit also has an express bus service between the City of Jacksonville and the adjacent military installations, including Camp Lejeune, Camp Johnson, Camp Geiger, and New River Air Station. Jacksonville Transit is an important component of the City's transportation system allowing thousands of civilians and military service members to access employment, shopping, education, and travel opportunities. The Jacksonville Station Phase II project is a continuation of our efforts of improving the City's public transportation system. Located across the street from Jacksonville Station, the second phase of this project encompasses a fueling farm for Jacksonville Transit.
