Description

Bonds are required if the bid amount exceeds $100,000. Work shall be completed within 45 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. 1.0 INVITATION TO BID 1.1 The Town of Orange requests bids from qualified contractors to replace the gym flooring (including the entryway) at the High Plains Community Center located at 525 Orange Center Road. 1.2 Bidders are required to comply with the instructions contained in these Bid Documents, and to provide information where requested. Bids must be made upon the forms contained herein. 1.3 This project is anticipated to be town funded (no state or federal funds are anticipated), therefore, CHRO small/minority/women/disabled business set-aside requirements do not apply. Questions All questions shall be submitted by email to the Director of Public Works at bbrinton@orange-ct.gov. All questions will be answered by email. Bidders must provide contact information to the town by emailing snapoli@orangect.gov and bbrinton@orange-ct.gov, to ensure that they receive bid addenda and other notifications. The scope of work for this project shall include, but not be limited to, all labor, materials, tools, equipment, incidentals, and related work necessary to replace the gym flooring (including the entryway). The work shall include, but not be limited to, the following: o Remove existing gym and entryway flooring to concrete subfloor. o Prepare concrete subfloor in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. o Furnish and install new rubber pad and poured polyurethane surface multipurpose sports flooring system in the gym and entryway, in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. Surface color to be selected by Town. Submit manufacturer's plans, material specifications, installation instructions, and maintenance and cleaning instructions for the multipurpose sports flooring system, for Town review and approval. o Multipurpose sports flooring shall be: 1. Robbins Pulastic Classic 90 by Robbins Sports Surfaces, or 2. Action Herculan MF 7+2 by Action Floor Systems, or 3. Polyturf Plus Pad and Pour 7+2 by Tarkett Sports, or 4. Approved Equal. o Furnish and install game line paint for basketball and volleyball to match existing layout, including the town seal at the center of the gym. Also furnish and install game line paint for pickleball. Shuffleboard game lines are not required. Game line paint colors to be selected by Town. Submit manufacturer's plans, material specifications, installation instructions, and maintenance and cleaning instructions for the game line paint, for Town review and approval. o Clean work area and remove all debris, materials, tools, and equipment from site.
