Description | This work will include elevator removal and reconstruction of ADA Compliant elevator at City Hall located at 101 N. East St., Crown Point, IN 46307. The Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than sixty (60) days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Crown Point Board of Public Works and Safety further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the City of Crown Point or to reject all bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashiers check made payable to the City of Crown Point or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (revised 1987) which includes non-collusion affidavit. The Bidders attention is called to the fact that a Notice to Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity (Executive Order 11246), is contained in the Bid Documents. This notice sets forth, in part, goals and timetables for the employment of women and minorities in the project area. The goals and timetables for minority and female participation are 20.9% and 6.9% per year, respectively. Contractors and Sub-Contractors are required to pay not less than the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate established by the U.S. Department of Labor and included in the Project Specifications. Information explaining other prevailing wage laws, which apply to this work, is also included in the Project Specifications. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. This project is being funded in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Lake County Community Economic Development Department. |
