Replacement of Three Small Structures along MD 146 Over Drainage Ditches

This project is located in Baltimore County, adjacent to the Loch Raven Reservoir and includes the complete replacement of three (3) small structures along MD 146 over drainage ditches. The existing small structures, Small Structure Nos. 03189X0, 03190X0, and 03192X0, are reinforced concrete box culverts with concrete headwalls that will be removed and replaced with 60” x 38” horizontal elliptical reinforced concrete pipes (H.E.R.C.P) and precast reinforced concrete headwalls. Riprap channel protection and W-beam traffic barrier will be placed at each structure location, and each structure will require full-depth paving and milling/overlaying to provide a smooth transition to the existing roadway. Construction will be done using a full road closure and detour. This work will be performed with an accelerated construction schedule to minimize the detour time.
