Description | Direct all inquiries concerning this RFP to: Alicia Gaines Purchasing Associate III Alicia.gaines@rockymountnc.gov 252-972-1227 Proposals must be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to Alicia Gaines, Purchasing Associate III, City of Rocky Mount. The project name and bid number as well as the name, address and license number of the Bidder must be plainly marked on the outside of the envelope. The City of Rocky Mount is seeking 10% minority business participation on this project. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality. The City will not discriminate against any bidder submitting a bid because of race, creed, color, national origin or handicap. The Contractor that is recommended for award of the contract shall be responsible for supplying a notarized e-verify affidavit before award of the contract if one is not on file with the City of Rocky Mount Purchasing Office. The project includes the following major items: installation of asphalt pavement on unpaved and paved roads; installation of gravity sanitary sewer lines, services and manholes; replacement of driveway pipes; minor clearing and grubbing; reshaping and minor realignment of existing roadbed, etc. The project person is Alicia Gaines, Purchasing Associate III (252.972.1227). A Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid must accompany each Bid a $500,000.00 or more. A 100% Performance Bond and 100% Payment Bond will be required from the successful bidder or any bids $300,000.00 or more. Bids for this project shall be guaranteed by all bidders for a period of 90 calendar days following the bid opening. See Attachment D for more information regarding bonding requirements Submit Written Questions Deadline Contractor 3/10/2023 5:00 pm Provide Response to Questions/ Addendum Deadline City 3/21/2023 5:00 pm Scope- Clearing and Grubbing as directed to clear vegetation encroaching in the ROW and drainage easements. o Clean out, regrade and stabilize existing roadside swales (Emerald Lane, Coral Drive, Topaz Avenue) o Replace existing driveway culverts as directed by City to ensure proper drainage of the roadside swales. o Replace existing cross drainage culvert in Coral Drive, install 24" RCP, 2'x3' drop inlet and regrade existing roadside ditch to ensure drainage to the proposed culvert. o Replace existing cross drainage culverts in Coral Drive (at Topaz Drive) and install 18" RCPs and regrade existing roadside ditch to ensure drainage to the proposed culverts. o Install additional aggregate base course as directed by the City and regrade existing roadbed in accordancewith City Standard Detail 2.3 "Standard Ditch Section for Streets," and where directed by the City to address existing drainage patterns. All asphalt roadway widths are proposed to be 22 feet. o Asphalt paving shall be 2 inches of S9.5B hot mix asphalt and shall include paving of adjacent driveway aprons to a distance of approximately 7 feet from the edge of payment. o New surfaces shall be installed to maintain or improve the integrity of existing drainage. o The newly placed asphalt shall tie in smoothly with the existing intersecting road surface. o Install gravity sanitary sewer lines, services, cleanouts and associated manholes. Sewer along Cox Avenue is future and not included in this contract. o Adjust existing valve boxes to match final grade. Remove/replace existing mailboxes (same day). o Install Coir-Fiber Waffle Barrier pipe inlet protection and other erosion control devices as directed by the City. |
