Description

You are hereby advised that on August 8, 2022, the MOC-Floyd Valley Board of Directors will conduct a public hearing commencing at 5:00 PM in the District Board Room at 709 8th St SE, Orange City, IA. The public hearing will be for the issuance of bid documents for the High School Entrance Addition and Renovation and intent to enter into contracts with the lowest responsible bidders. At the conclusion of the public hearing the board will act on the resolution to approve the plans for bidding. You are invited to attend and comment. MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District will receive Bids the High School Entrance Addition and Renovation on or before 2:00 PM on September 1, 2022 at the MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District Administration Office located at 709 8th St SE, Orange City, IA 51041; attn.: Russ Adams, Superintendent. A public Bid Opening will be immediately following the receipt of bids. The bids will be presented to and considered by the School Board at their next meeting. A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 PM on August 18, 2022 at the MOC-Floyd Valley Administration Office located at 709 8th St SE, in Orange City, IA. Further information is available on the school's website at mocfv.org. Bid documents will be available via WA Klinger . Additions and renovations to the entrance, administration and special education areas of the existing High School Facility. This single bid issuance consists of Demolition, Site Grading & Utilities, Concrete, Masonry, Steel Supply & Erection, General Carpentry, Casework Supply, Roofing, Metal Panels, Glass & Glazing, Framing & Drywall, Painting, Acoustic Ceilings, Flooring, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical & Landscaping. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid security in a separate sealed envelope as allowed by Section 26.14A of the Iowa Code. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the total bid in the form of certified check, credit union share draft, or surety bond written on an original AIA Document A310, Bid 3 Bond is required for this project. The successful bidder will be required to provide surety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract Sum. The surety providing bonds must have an (A-) A.M. Best rating or better or be listed on the U.S. Department of Treasury listing of approved sureties (Department Circular 570). The cost of the Bonds shall be included in the Contract Sum. Bids shall be based on a stipulated sum contract for multiple contracts . Notice of Award will be issued within 30 days of the receipt of the bids. Each bid shall be submitted on the Bid Form provided with the Bidding Documents. No oral, emailed, facsimile or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered. Bids shall be addressed and delivered to the address listed above, in sealed envelopes marked with the Project Name, Bid Package Name and Number and name and address of Bidder. All bids shall be sealed and plainly marked. Any alteration of the Bid Form may be cause for rejection of the bid. Bidders wishing to bid on more than one Bid Category may do so. Combined bids will be accepted. Bidders may also submit individual bids for each bid category but are not required to be submitted in addition to the combined bids. Pricing for combined bids does not need to match the sum of individual bids. Bids may be awarded on individual Bid Categories or combined bids. Pricing for individual Bid Categories shall reflect pricing if the Bid Category is awarded independently. Clearly indicate which Bid Categories are being bid on the Bid Envelope. Deposit checks shall be made payable to and left with W.A. Klinger. Unsuccessful bidders must return their drawings and specifications to W.A. Klinger in good condition, and within 14 days of the award of contracts in order to receive a refund of their deposit. The MOC-Floyd Valley Community School District School Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive informalities and technicalities, and to enter such contracts as it deems in the best interest of the School District. It is the intent of the Owner to award a contract or multiple contracts to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the bidding requirements. The Owner reserves the right to waive informalities or irregularities.
