Description

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) New Orleans District has the following requirement: NOTE: THIS IS A SYNOPSIS, NOT A SOLICITATION. SPECIFICATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; THEREFORE, NO QUESTIONS OF A TECHNICAL OR CONTRACTUAL NATURE WILL BE ACCEPTED OR ANSWERED UNTIL THE SOLICITATION IS ISSUED. INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS SYNOPSIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE This UNRESTRICTED solicitation will be issued as Invitation for Bid (IFB) and resulting in the award of a single firm fixed price (FFP) contract. The solicitation will be issued on or about 19 January 2023. Actual issue date and anticipated bid opening will be shown when the solicitation is issued. From the west end of the existing dune alignment a stone dune core will be constructed. The approximate length of dune core is 2,200 feet. Additional work includes repairs to the existing western jetty and existing offshore stone segmented breakwaters. The Rehabilitation Work will consist of a removing the existing geotube core and installing the geotextile base and stone core as well as stone capping of the existing western jetty and multiple offshore stone segmented breakwaters. Approximately 16,000 TON of stone and 20,000 SY of geotextile will be needed for the stone dune core. The majority of activities associated with the construction would be water based and via barge but will include limited land access at the western gulfside end of the dune alignment. The estimated value of this work is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The Government will not provide written paper copies of the solicitation. Potential contractors are responsible for monitoring this site for the release of the solicitation package and any amendments.
