Description | As of October 27, 2022, an architect has been selected and this project is in the design phase. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is not expected to start prior to May 2023. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: This project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing approximately 27,000 s.f. roof system membrane, insulation and associated flashing at the L. Washington Memorial Library on the Southern University of New Orleans campus. Install new SBS roof over new tapered polyisocyanurate insulation where necessary to achieve positive drainage. Also install new metal and/or elastomeric flashings and make adjustments if any to rooftop equipment, curbs and other rooftop mounted systems. The roof system must be a State of Louisiana approved 20 year warrantied SBS Modified Bitumen roofing system installed in accordance with manufacturers recommendations for installation. The Designer shall be responsible for evaluating the existing deck to ensure that the roof deck is capable of accepting the new roofing system. The building will remain occupied for the duration of the project. Primary and secondary drainage must meet current code requirements. In addition, remove and replace one (1) existing skylight that appears to function as a smoke relief hatch. Clean and paint rooftop vents as necessary. Design services shall be limited to the partial Construction Document phase through Construction Administration Phase. Existing documents through the Construction Document phase have been completed and will be made available to the selected firm for their use for this project. The Designer shall prepare and submit all required drawings to Facility Planning & Control in AutoCAD and hard copy. Drawings shall follow the format specified in the Instructions to Designers for AutoCAD Drawings Submittal. Contract design time is 120 consecutive calendar days; including 40 days review time. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time. |
