Description

**As of December 20, 2023, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on January 8, 2023.** SCOPE OF WORK : In general, the proposed improvements consist of median modifications for approximately 1 mile on Pacific Coast Highway between John Tyler Drive and Puerco Canyon Road. The improvements include modifying the existing curbed median by installing stamped concrete, roadway excavation, asphalt pavement, striping and signage, pavement markers, pavement markers and thermoplastic striping removal, new storm drain system, storm drain removal, adjusting utility covers, potholing, temporary traffic control, and all other appurtenant work included and shown in the Contract Documents and Specifications. The wage rate for any classification not listed by the California Department of Industrial Relations, but which may be required to execute the proposed contract, shall be in accord with specified rates for similar or comparable classifications or for those performing similar or comparable duties, within the agency's determinations. The bid shall be submitted, and the work shall be performed by a Class "A" State of California licensed contractor in strict conformance with the project specifications for PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY MEDIAN IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT - JOHN TYLER DRIVE TO PUERCO CANYON ROAD Specification No. 2049 now on file in the City's Public Works Department. The City reserves the right to retain all bids for a period of 90 days after the bid opening date for examination and comparison and to delete any portion of the work from the Contract. The City reserves the right to delete any bid item to the extent that the bid is qualified by specific limitation. An unbalanced bid shall be considered as grounds for rejecting the entire bid. The City reserves the right to determine and waive non-substantial irregularities in any bid, and to reject any or all bids.
