Snow Removal and Salt Spreading Services

The City of Topeka is seeking bids for snow removal and salt spreading services. The awarded vendor will enter into a one (1) year agreement with the City with the option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year periods by written agreement of both parties. The selected Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining a valid commercial drivers license at all times for all drivers and operators of their equipment that by law require a CDL. Bidders must complete the bid form provided by the City. Bidder are required to provide information on all equipment to be furnished under the contract if awarded. Information must include but is not limited to: a. Class 2 through 5 four wheel drive trucks equipped with 8 straight or V-plow with operator. b. Class 7 and 8 trucks with 10 to 11 plow with operator. c. Motor graders or other heavy equipment with snow pushers for heavy snow plowing wit operator. d. Wheel loaders for snow storage yard work and intersection cleanout with operator. e. Salt spreading equipment with operator. f. Indicate how many trucks, year, and price per hour for each unit with driver/operator. g. Bid prices per hour must include equipment and operator. The selected Contractor is required to attend a mandatory pre-season meeting to discuss mobilization and emergency operations for snow removal or salt spreading on a date and at a time to be determined once the awarded contract is executed. The Contractor will also ensure that pertinent processes, procedures, and expectations surrounding snow removal or salt spreading operations are communicated as part of this meeting, and are communicated to all of their employees working any event.
