Description | This project will be bid on a unit price basis for all specified work and will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. 5% Bid Bond is required of all bidders. Bid bond must be present for bid to be read or considered. 100% Performance and Payment bonds will be required of the successful bidder. The deadline for guestions is November 3, 2022, at 2:30 PM. Questions received after this deadline may not be answered. Replies of substance will be in the form of written addenda and made available to all potential bidders. The scope of the work includes sawcutting and removal of broken and cracked concrete, replacement of these broken and cracked portions of the existing trail with new concrete, installation of decorative pavers in areas where they have been removed by past repairs, installation of a new ADA compliant handrail along the trail's southern end, driveway installation at Flint Avenue, and assorted other minor repairs.The work is in three locations: Monroe Street trailhead at the north end of the Connector Trail, traffic control measures in Tift Park, and repair and cleaning of the River Spur Trail at the south end of the Connector Trail. The construction of a concrete trailhead on Monroe Street is to be installed within City street right-of-way and on City owned property; the project consists of installation of a concrete parking spaces on Monroe Street and a concrete plaza area for pedestrians and cyclists using the existing Connector Trail and the future Rail-to-Trail along with associated work. The installation of timber guard rails and of bollards will be within Tift Park to control and limit vehicle access to the existing Connector Trail. The River Trail Spur extends from the southern end of the Connector Trail at Roosevelt Street southward to connect to the Riverfront Trail in the park located between the Flint River and Front Street. The existing spur trail will be cleaned, broken portions will be replaced, decorative pavers installed, and other improvements constructed. This is a unit cost contract, and the City reserves the right to adjust the quantities within the contract by increase, decrease, or elimination in order to bring the project within the funding budget. |
