Description | The Scope of Work is to complete the connection between the St. Lucie County Emergency Operations Center (SLCEOC) and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department (SLCSD) by the installation of a new fiber optic system which shall connect to the existing fiber optic system already connecting other emergency response facilities. The new system will include two (2) 2-inch conduits along the main Midway Road pathway. A single 2-inch conduit shall be installed from the main Midway Road pathway to each of the 4 locations. The new fiber cables shall run underground along Midway Road (within 2-inch conduit) between the SLCEOC and the SLCSD for a distance of 6.1 miles. A new 96 strand single mode fiber trunk line will originate at the SLCEOC and terminate 6.1 miles away within a splice vault in front of the SLCSD. The 3 additional 24 strand single mode fiber laterals will service the following locations: St. Lucie County Fire Department (SLCFD) on NW Milner Drive, James E. Andersen Water Treatment Plant (JEAWTP) 7599 NW LTC Parkway, and the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department (SLCSD) 4700 W. Midway Road. All work shall be in accordance with the City’s Fiber Optic Specification 2020 as well as the Qualified Products List (QPL). The proposed telecommunications infrastructure project shall allow the City and the County to “bridge the gap” and support improved communication between partners, with the 911 system responding to emergency calls during storm events. |
