King Street- Bradlee Roadway Improvements - City of Alexandria

Site work and paving for a civil project in Alexandria, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway. The purpose of this project is to design and construct multimodal and drainage/stormwater improvements on King Street between Quaker Lane and Menokin Drive. This project is intended to enhance mobility, access, safety, and comfort for people walking, biking, taking transit, and driving in and around the Bradlee and Fairlington areas of King Street, and improve stormwater management. This project supports recommendations and strategies from the Alexandria Mobility Plan, Vision Zero Action Plan, and Environmental Action Plan by addressing safety concerns, prioritizing improvements to nonmotorized networks, encouraging use of low-carbon forms of transportation, and reducing stormwater pollution. As of June 27, 2022, this project is currently in the FY 2023-2032 CIP. Funding for this project is allotted in the city's capital improvement plan for construction FY 2023. A firm timeline has not been established; however, construction is scheduled for Fiscal Year 2023. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
