Description | The new building will provide space for several departments of the University's College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering, including various academic labs for robotics, advanced manufacturing, metals/machining, ECET, BIM/CAD, and visual communication labs, along with faculty/staff offices and support spaces that enhance 21st century teaching, learning, and office best practices. "Lab spaces" will be created as flexible and interactive, reflecting advanced manufacturing business concepts and serve as a synergistic launching pad for research prototyping. The proposed building site is on E. Merry Street, in the western portion of the current parking lot R, just south of the existing Technology Building and Kokosing Hall, which house the various departments and programs within the College of Technology, Architecture and Applied Engineering. For projects advertised with an appropriately developed Program of Requirements ("POR"), upon award of the Agreement, commence with Design. For projects without such a POR, upon award of the Agreement, commence by developing the Program of Requirements. The selected A/E, as a portion of its required Scope of Services and prior to submitting its proposals, will discuss and clarify with the Owner and/or the Contracting Authority, the cost breakdown of the Architect/Engineer Agreement detailed cost components to address the Owner's project requirements. Participate in the Encouraging Growth, Diversity & Equity (EDGE) Program as required by statute and the Agreement. As required by the Agreement, and as properly authorized, provide the following categories of services: Conceptual Program Verification, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, GMP Proposal and Amendment, Closeout Deliverables, and Additional Services of all types. As of May 22, 2023, this project is in design. The architect has been identified. A firm construction timeline has not been established; however possible RFQ for CM/GC expected 2024. |
