Description | This work will include: demolishing 6 buildings, any accessory structures and appropriate site restoration in the City of Hobart. Buildings are located at: 282 Crestwood Dr; 950 S. Water St; 131 Center St; 229 N Ohio St; 2100 E. Cleveland Ave; 2401 Hickey St; all located in Hobart., IN. 282 Crestwood St should be bid as the main bid and all the other addresses bid as individual alternates. We reserve the right to accept any combination of bids and alternates. All work must be completed and invoiced by June 23, 2023. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on bid forms contained in the Contract Documents obtainable from the Clerk-Treasurer's Office as stated above. No bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of sixty (60) days following the date set for receiving bids. The City reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than sixty (60) days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The City further reserves the right to waive informalities, and to award the contract to any Bidder, all to the advantage of the City of Hobart, Indiana or to reject all bids. BID SECURITY: Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or cashier's check made payable to the City of Hobart, Indiana or an acceptable bid bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. BONDS: A performance bond and payment bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required. INDIANA REQUIREMENT: Standard Questionnaire Form 96 (revised 1987) which includes non-collusion affidavit. FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Bidders attention is called to the fact that a ""Notice to Requirement for Affirmative Action to Ensure Equal Employment Opportunity (Executive Order 11246), is contained in the Bid Documents. This notice sets forth, in part, goals and timetables for the employment of women and minorities in the project area. The goals and timetables for minority and female participation are 20.9% and 6.9% per year, respectively. Contractors and Sub-Contractors are required to pay not less than the Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rate established by the U.S. Department of Labor and included in the Project Specifications. Information explaining other prevailing wage laws, which apply to this work, is also included in the Project Specifications. Each bidder must ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, creed, color, sex or national origin. This project is being funded in part by the Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Lake County Community Economic Development Department. The remaining portion of the project shall be funded through local funds. Total available funds for FY 2022-2023 to the City of Hobart, Indiana is $ 119,672.00, which represents approximately 100% of the estimated cost of the project. |
