Description

The project consists of approximately 8,630 SF base bid building renovation on the second floor. The first floor renovation is included in Alternate 2 and is approximately 6,730 SF. The total building is approximately 15,360 SF. The renovation will consist of new metal stud and gypsum walls, new carpet tile, ceramic tile, and vinyl composition tile flooring, new ceiling tile/grid, new interior door frames and hardware, and new casework. The renovation includes partial plumbing, mechanical, and electrical system replacement. Alternate 3 includes site work to reseal and paint the parking areas. A performance bond and a payment bond will be required for one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. bid bond of five percent (5%) No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days. All contractors are hereby notified that they must have proper license as required under the state laws governing their respective trades. The County reserves the right to determine the lowest responsive and responsible Bidder on the basis of an individual item, groups of items, or any way determined to be in the best interest of the County The Contractor shall furnish such manpower, materials, facilities and equipment, and shall work such hours, including night shifts, overtime operations, Sundays and holidays, as necessary to insure the progress and completion of the Work in accordance with the approved and currently updated progress schedule. If the progress of the Work falls behind the currently updated and approved progress schedule and if, in the opinion of the Architect, it appears likely that the Work will not be completed within the Contract Time, the Contractor agrees to undertake some or all of the following actions at no additional cost to the Owner: prepare a progress recovery schedule to meet the required completion date; increase manpower in quantities and crafts; increase the number of working hours per shift, shifts per day, working days per week, quantity of equipment, or any combination of the foregoing; and reschedule activities to achieve maximum practical concurrence. Failure of the Contractor to substantially comply with the requirements of the recovery schedule may be considered grounds for a determination by the Owner that the Contractor is failing
