H--Fire Extinguisher Maintenance Ann Arbor VA Medical Center

The contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, supervision, management, management support, transportation, supplies, equipment, and materials necessary to furnish the following services in an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) format: a. All portable fire extinguishers and fixed fire extinguishing systems (regardless of type) located in all buildings, trailers, vehicles and parking structures will be checked and will have the annual (1) year, five (5) year, six (6) year, or twelve (12) year (hydrostatic testing or replace extinguisher, whichever is required) tests as required by the appropriate National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Section. If extinguishers need to be removed from their location for servicing, a replacement extinguisher (provided by the Contractor) shall be installed until the extinguisher can be returned to its original location at no cost to the government. Fire extinguishing systems located in the cooking hoods will be inspected every six months in accordance with NFPA. Fusible links are to be returned to the Safety Technician. Fuel shutoffs are also to be checked.
