Description | The Colfax Water Treatment Plant pressure filter process requires pumping clarified water from the sedimentation basin through the filters and to the clear well and storage tanks. A leak has formed in the existing filter pump influent line from corrosion via various sources and needs to be fixed. Agency staff has already excavated the line and due to the crossings and interferences from other pipes and conduits repair of the existing pipe is not feasible. Contractor to route a new pipe from the sedimentation basin effluent compartment to the filter pump building and make the connections at each end to restore operation. PCWA Drinking Water Operations requires contractor's assistance to perform maintenance and repair of this pipeline to restore leak free operation of the filter influent pumps. Contractor to core a hole in the North side of the sedimentation basin effluent compartment, make watertight the new pipe wall penetration, place pipe supports, route new 12-inch pvc pipe and fittings as needed following the natural site grade, and connect to the filter pump suction flange outside the filter pump building. Contractor shall also relocate the metal mesh screen in the sedimentation basin effluent compartment from the south side to the North Side and plug the old influent pipe. Time for completion shall be 60 calendar days after the notice to proceed which will follow the execution of Agreement by approximately 15 days. Quotes over $25,000 require a payment bond. The payment bond shall be in amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Agreement amount and shall be for payment of just claims for materials, equipment, labor, and subcontractors employed by the Contractor thereon. The cost of providing this bond shall be borne by the contractor and included in the quote. The form of the bond, if applicable, is attached herein. |
