| Description | Piedmont Community College’s Center for Educational and Agricultural Development (CEAD) campus in Pelham NC will include an incubator farm where students and members of the community can learn the economics of farming. The site of the incubator farm will be located on legacy tobacco fields, last farmed over 20 years ago, and clear cut about 5 years ago. After stumps have been removed and legacy fields have been graded new again, PCC agricultural students will apply soil amendments and plant cover crops. Piedmont Community College seeks to have stumps removed and grading done to prepare 15-20 acres for agriculture at our future campus site in Pelham, NC. |
