Description

The purpose of this Invitation to Bid ("ITB") is solicit bids for the Wired Access Layer Refresh (WALR): Hartford School of Law - Hosmer Hall & Knight Hall project for construction services Q&A (RFI) Due Date and Time 1/5/2023 2:00PM The construction is planned to start: MAY 15, 2023 Construction duration: 3 MONTHS The University reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid; and to waive any informality or technical defects; if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the University. The University is engaged in a multi-year project to upgrade its network equipment and wired access infrastructure to the current standards. As part of this effort this coming summer two academic complexes need upgrading: Hartford School of Law: 1. Hosmer Hall - Site of faculty offices, the Insurance Law Center, and Janet M. Blumberg Hall, where many law school events are held. 2. Knight Hall - Site of faculty offices, the Insurance Law Center, and Janet M. Blumberg Hall, where many law school events are held. Base Bid: Hosmer Hall - The Building will require replacing existing cable wiring. Currently there are multiple telecom rooms that will be condensed into one expanded TR Room TR113 on the 1st Floor. TR113 will be expanded into a with the assistance of UConn Facilities - FO Department. Hosmer Hall Building characteristics: Hartford Law School Campus - Hosmer Hall (4) floors: Basement, First, Second floors and 3rd Floors. (1) Existing TR113 on the 1st floor will be expanded with assistance from UConn Facilities-FO. Knight Hall - The Building will require replacing existing cable wiring. The current telecom room 005 will be expanded into TR Room 003 by installing to support copper and fiber backbones. Knight Building characteristics: Hartford Law School Campus - Knight Hall (3) floors: Basement, First and Second floors. (1) Existing TR 005 in the basement shall be relocated to new basement TR 003.
