Description | It is the intent of this Request for Proposals for Professional Services (PS) is to select a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) pre-qualified firm to provide Construction Engineering and Inspection services for the Fortune and Simpson Road Intersection Improvements project. This crash reduction safety project contains intersection improvements at Fortune Road and Simpson Road in Osceola County. Along Fortune Road, the project length is about 3,600 feet from east of the 7-11 Gas Station and Boggy Creek Animal Hospital shared driveway to the Westminster Gardens driveway. Along Simpson Road, the project length is about 3,200 feet from south of Marisol Loop to south of Harbor Town Drive. The project includes roadway widening to accommodate raised medians, additional turn lanes, and bike lanes while converting the rural typical into an urban typical. The intersection improvements include construction of new traffic signal and new pedestrian signal features. The project also includes signing and pavement markings, maintenance of traffic, mobilization, clearing and grubbing and drainage modifications to accommodate for the urban typical. The project consists of safety improvements as well as minor capacity improvements. The construction plans will be separated into two sets with one set including the safety improvements and the other set including the capacity improvements. The successful CEI firm will be required to track the projects separately and invoice the County separately. The Proposer (Prime) shall be FDOT prequalified in Major Work Group 10.1 (Roadway Construction Engineering Inspection). |
