Description

**As of January 4, 2023, This project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established.** This project provides for the roadway, sanitary sewer and storm sewer improvements of Witherspoon Street between Leigh Avenue and Green Street. The principal items of work consist of the following: Excavation, Unclassified; DGABC; Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course; Hot Mix Asphalt 19.5M64 Base Course; Concrete Base Course; Concrete Sidewalk; Concrete Paver Sidewalk; Ductile Iron Pipe; Stormwater Inlets; Storm Sewer Manholes; 8" VCP Sanitary Sewer Main; Sanitary Sewer Lateral Video Inspection, Sanitary Sewer Lateral Replacement, HMA Driveway; Concrete Driveway, Ornamental Railing, Concrete Wall; Cast Iron Detectable Warning Surface; Concrete Sidewalk; Concrete Vertical Curb; Street Trees, Street Tree Removals; Traffic Marking Lines and Symbols; and other miscellaneous work. The project must be substantially completed in two hundred and thirteen (213) calendar days. The entire project must be completed in two hundred and forty-three (243) calendar days. The SBE goal for the project is thirteen percent (13%). Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check or bid bond of an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid, but not to exceed $20,000.00, payable to the Municipality of Princeton and a Consent of Surety. The surety shall be bound to furnish performance and payment bonds as required in the "Instructions to Bidders". Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27-1.1 et seq. Bidders are also required to comply with all other requirements set forth in the Instructions to Bidders. The Municipality intends to award this project to the lowest responsible bidder whose bid is responsive and complies with its requirements for same, provided that in the judgment of the Municipality it is reasonable, and within available funds of the Municipality. The Municipality reserves the right to reject all bids to the extent permitted by law. An award will be made, or bids will be rejected within 60 days after the opening of bids, unless extended as provided by law.
