Zuni Street and Quail Creek Drive Roundabout - 18K0003 - City and County of Broomfield

The 2019 Capital Improvements budget has funding for the design of the Zuni Street and Quail Creek Drive Roundabout. In September 2014, as part of the McKay/Lambertson Open Lands Phase 1 Improvements, a traffic study was completed by JF Sato and Associates. The traffic study, which considered use, future demand, capacity requirements, entry speeds, and land availability, recommended an Urban Compact Roundabout at the intersection of Zuni Street and Quail Creek Drive. The proposed roundabout will help in reducing delays at the McKay Lake Regional Park parking lot access, will improve site distance at Quail Creek Drive to address concerns from the McKay Landing subdivision, and will enhance pedestrian bicyclist safety as it requires low vehicle speeds to make right turns into and out of the circulatory roadway. The proposed roundabout, in conjunction with the existing 150-foot roundabout to the north at McKay Landing Parkway, will provide traffic calming on Zuni Street by reducing vehicle running speeds. As of July 26, 2021, the project is in design, however the project will be working towards final CDs late summer, 2021 with construction bid in the first quarter of 2022 and starting after.
