USCG Rebuild Pier Electrical USCG Sector Detroit, MI

The work includes replacement of the pier electrical distribution system at USCG Sector Detroit. The following assets require replacement. a. 450V service gear and transformer b. Raceway System c. 450V, 3-phase, 200 amp shoretie receptacles d. Conduit systems and feeders e. 120V, 1-phase, 100 amp shoretie receptacles f. 120V equipment g. Electrical Distribution 1.1.2 The electrical distribution work includes the following. a. Provide and install a new 800A, 480V distribution switchboard for power distribution to the pier areas, replacing the existing. b. Provide and install (5) new 480V, 3-phase, 150kVA, isolation transformers to serve each of the 450V shoretie receptacles. Shoretie locations A, B, C, D, and E. c. Provide and install new duct banks and conduit systems, throughout the site, to distribute the 480V ungrounded power and 208Y/120V power. Remove existing duct banks and conduit systems, as noted and as required. d. Install (3) new, government provided, 480V, 3-phase, 200 amp Russellstoll interlocked combination disconnects/receptacles, at shoretie locations A, B, and E. e. Provide and install new monitoring equipment, etc., at 450V shoretie receptacle locations A, B, C, D, and E. f. Provide and install new conduit and feeder conductors on top of the existing fendering system on the east side of the pier. Provide and install new conduit and feeder conductors through the fendering system on the west side of the pier. g. The existing 240/120V single phase distribution system to the piers is to be replaced. Provide and install a new 480V, 3-phase, feed from the new switchboard, feeding a new NEMA 3R step down transformer at the head of the pier. Provide and install a new 208Y/120V, 3-phase, 225A panel to serve the pier area. h. Install (3) new, government provided, 120V, 1-phase, 100 amp Russellstoll interlocked combination disconnects/receptacles, at shoretie locations 1, 2, and 3. i. Provide and install new weatherproof convenience receptacles on the pier and wharf. j. Provide a communication duct bank system for future systems. k. Remove the electrical connections to the existing pier water and sewer heat trace freeze protection systems. Provide and install new circuits/conduit, to reconnect as P/N 11694704 required. Provide breaker space and space for additional conduit for future projects to update the water and sewer system with heat trace. l. Restoration of pavement, as required. m. Provide temporary power for 450V shoretie locations C and D, and 120V power, for all power outages over 48 hours in duration. This includes providing and installing portable generators, temporary wiring, temporary connections, associated equipment, portable fuel, etc. Coordinate with sector personnel and the COR.
