RFQ - Community Energy Efficiency Campaign Administration

The City of Decatur reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities, to negotiate changes in the scope of work or services to be provided and to otherwise waive any technicalities. The City of Decatur Clean Energy Plan, adopted in September 2022, established the City's commitment to supplying 100% of community-wide electricity demand with clean and renewable energy by 2035. The Plan identified demand reduction and increased energy efficiency as the City's primary pathway to achieving this ambitious goal and recommended the creation of a community-wide campaign to accelerate this work. This campaign, referred to as "Renovize" in the Plan, would build upon established program models to provide accessible, productized energy efficiency upgrades through established relationships with energy auditors, equipment providers, and contractors, similar to the successful Solarize campaigns that have resulted in increased rooftop solar adoption in Decatur. During the development of the Clean Energy Plan, City residents and community stakeholders also made explicit the need to center racial equity and local workforce development in future campaigns to maximize the local cobenefits of Decatur's clean energy transition and advance the vision of Decatur's 2020 Strategic Plan.
