Frank Holten State Recreation Area (SRA) Basketball Courts and Lighting Improvements

SCOPE OF WORK: The North Court Basketball Court includes the installation two (2) new playground basketball systems -- hot dipped galvanized steel posts with bent gooseneck style post with 6’-0” safety area and 42” x 72” steel rectangular backboards with 18” double 5/8” steel rims, and nylon nets. The South Basketball Court shall have two (2) existing posts stripped, sanded, cleaned, and painted with black pain, and two (2) new 42” x 60” steel rectangular backboards installed with 18” double 5/8” steel rims, and nylon nets (see Attachment F – Basketball Court Layout). Both the new North Basketball Court and the revitalized South Basketball Court shall receive new striping with white paint compliant with ISHA striping standards (see Attachment F – Basketball Court Layout). Both the North and South Basketball Courts shall be improved with solar lighting – four (4) new LED fixtures at each location shall be mounted on 25’-0” aluminum poles installed per Manufacturer’s Specifications. Along with improvements to the North and South Basketball Courts, each existing aggregate parking lot shall be improved with accessible parking stalls – National Standards for Accessible Design and Illinois Accessibility code compliant 20’-0” x 20’-0” concrete parking stalls (along with appropriate painted markings and signage) and a 5’-0” accessible concrete path connecting to both the North and South Basketball courts. Both sites shall be graded to ensure positive drainage with stormwater directed away from the newly installed North Basketball Court, revitalized South Basketball Court, accessible sidewalks, accessible parking stalls, and improved aggregate parking areas.
