41st Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project

NOTICE TO PLAN HOLDERS- THE 41ST STREET SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT (PROJECT NO. 7310-663-382), IN SIOUX CITY, IOWA. The City Council will take action on August 7, 2023 to rescind the approval of the plans, specifications, form of contract, and estimated cost for construction for the 41st Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements Project in Sioux City, Iowa. Due to unforeseen issues with this project, it was deemed necessary to rescind the project and cancel the bid letting. Staff anticipates the City Council will adopt this project at a future date, pending resolution of the current issues. Post on the Construction Update Plan Room Network’s website at www.mbionline.com and on the City’s website at www.sioux-city.org/engineering on August 2, 2023 As of September 19, 2023, no new information available Each bid must be made on a form furnished by the City and must be accompanied by a bid bond, a cashier's check or certified check of an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States, or a certified share draft drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Sioux City, Iowa. The check or draft may be cashed by the City Treasurer as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract within the ten (10) days after notice of award and post bond satisfactory to the City ensuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. However, the City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, re-advertise for new bids and to waive informalities that may be in the best interest of the City. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the state of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor This project has a late start date of September 18, 2023. All work on the overall project shall be completed within 85 working days. All work within the BNSF right of way portion of the project (above and below grade) has a late start date of September 25, 2023. All work on the BNSF portion of the project shall be completed within 6 working days
