The plans and proposals are each a call for bids containing all requirements governing the letting and performance of the particular contract including but not limited to any applicable requirements for the payment of prevailing rates of wages for labor as required by law. Any questions regarding individual plans and proposals should be directed to the City of Urbana Public Works Department. All bidders are required to provide evidence of current prequalification with the Illinois Department of Transportation.. All bidders are hereby notified that the City of Urbana is required to affirmatively insure that the contract, entered into pursuant to this advertisement, will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder and on a non-discriminatory basis. The lowest responsible bidder must have an active Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Certificate of Compliance from the City of Urbana before the contract can be awarded. Applications for EEO Certificate of Compliance are reviewed only once per month by the City of Urbana; therefore, all bidders are encouraged to apply for EEO certification in advance of the bid opening. Description of Work: The work involved in this contract includes CLASS B PATCHING, SPECIAL TYPES I, II, III & IV, for 7 inch and 8 inch concrete thicknesses and removal and replacement of combination concrete curb and gutter at the locations designated on the schedule herein, as ordered by the City Engineer for the City of Urbana. The contractor shall perform all work on this project to the satisfaction of the City Engineer. Location: Race Street from Windsor Road (Station 50+00) to Florida Avenue (Station 102+70) Project Length:4,820 Ft Proposed Improvement: The improvement will consist of Class B Concrete Patching for both 7-inch and 8-inch thick pavement. All new pavement will be 8" thick. The improvement will have some locations consisting of Removal and Replacement of B6.24 Curb and Gutter. Traffic Control required to keep one lane of traffic open at all times. The successful bidder at the time of execution of the contract will be required to deposit a contract bond for the full amount of the award. When a contract bond is not required, the proposal guaranty check will be held in lieu thereof. If this proposal is accepted and the undersigned fails to execute a contract and contract bond as required, it is hereby agreed that the Bid Bond of check shall be forfeited to the Awarding Authority. The Vendor shall comply with all applicable provisions of the Prevailing Wage Act, which requires the payment of the prevailing rate of wage to all laborers, workers, and mechanics employed by or on behalf of a public body in the construction, demolition, maintenance, or repair of public works. 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. The prevailing wage rates are established and revised by the Department of Labor and are available at www.state.il.us/agency/idol/rates/rates.htm. The contract work shall be started within 10 days of the "Notice to Proceed" and shall be completed by November 18, 2022.
