J041--Repair/Replace Refrigeration Equipment

Contractor to provide all labor, supervision and material to replace existing rack condensing unit and evaporators for the Bonham and Dallas walk in refrigerators. These systems replacements shall require two (2) remote condensing units and (4) evaporators. Equipment must be sized to match existing. The Bonham Box condensing unit shall be located near the existing rack refrigeration system. Both new condensing units shall be place on a fabricated angle iron stands 36 inches high. The Bonham box condenser shall be located next to the existing rack systems condenser located on the north side of B-2. The Dallas Box condenser shall be located on the roof next to the existing refrigeration lines going down to the box. Defrost timers will be installed in the condensing units. VA staff will determine defrost time and length. The power for the new condensing units shall be located by the VA staff. All controls and line voltage hook ups shall be the responsibility of the contractor. The Bonham box shall remain operational for food storage. Upon completion of the Dallas box the Bonham box can completed. When both boxes are completed the original condensing unit can be demoed and removed from VA Property. System renovations and repairs are to meet original specifications and operating conditions. Renovations and repairs and tests include the following Line Items: 1. Supply and install all required equipment. 2. Install new refrigeration circuits and piping as needed. 3. Leak test all new and old refrigeration lines. 4. Fabricate new condensing unit racks. 5. Clean out and reuse existing drain lines. 6. Insulate all outside refrigeration lines and cover in aluminum jacket. 7. Armaflex all refrigeration lines to match existing. Glue all joints. 8. Install new controls. 9. Provide VA with a written report on systems operation.
