Description | Site Description: The MWRA (facility name) is a large Pump Station located at (street Address). The construction staging area and work area are mostly flat and unpaved and access is only possible through the facility parking lot. The White River passes through the northeast corner of the property and within 300' of the work. Ancillary work must be done on First Street which is a four lane, two-way, city street running north to south in front of the facility and is less than two blocks from City High School. The Pump Station hasfour buildings which house critical equipment and the MWRA must be able to access, operate, and maintain this equipment throughout construction. The construction site limits will be clearly marked in the field and a sketch is included as submittal 001. The Pump Station stores and transports bulk volumes of regulated materials, most of which are corrosive, inside the construction work area. The Pump Station has many unlabeled confined or restricted spaces. All such spaces including manholes, basins, basements, vaults, pipes, or equipment are considered to be permit required confined spaces unless otherwise described in writing by the MWRA. The Pump Station has a very significant hydraulic profile and the forces associated with the hydraulics are of a vast magnitude. Care must be used whenever working on or near piping, valves, pumps, or vessels of any kind. "7. The fill pipe within the tank secured by the fill pipe brackets is a 4" CPVC Schedule 80 pipe with an outside diameter of 4 1/2 " (4.500)". Site access will not be permitted without the consent of the Project Manager, Timothy Jonah, Assets Manager. Please contact via e-mail timothy.jonah@mwra.com or phone 617-660-7736. |
