Description

Scope: The purpose of this bid solicitation is to establish a contract with a qualified vendor for furnishing the following specified resilient wedge gate valves to the City of Topeka, Water Division. Estimated Annual Quantity: The quantities listed are estimates only. The City reserves the right to decrease or increase the quantity dependent on actual needs. The quantities listed below are annual estimates only: a. 30 - 4" Resilient Wedge Gate Valves b. 100 - 6" Resilient Wedge Gate Valves c. 35 - 8" Resilient Wedge Gate Valves d. 5 - 10" Resilient Wedge Gate Valves e. 10 - 12" Resilient Wedge Gate Valves Submittals: All prices, conditions, and relevant information must be contained on the proposal page to be considered part of the bid proposal. Proposal pages must also include the attached bid form. Bidders are responsible for uploading and submitting any necessary documentation with their bid to provide the City with adequate review and evaluation information. Pricing must include total cost for delivered product. Resilient wedge gate valve specifications are as follows: Gate valves shall be standard pattern ductile iron body with "o" ring seals. The valve body, operating parts, design, and materials shall comply with the latest revised American Water Works Association (AWWA) specification C509. The interior and exterior of the valves shall be epoxy coated to comply with AWWA specification C-550. The wedge shall be fully encapsulated in molded rubber complying with ASTM International D-2000. Valves shall be designed for 250 or greater Pound per Square Inch (PSI) service with proper allowance for water hammer. Gate valves shall be Mueller 2361 series or American Series 2500 MM with t-head bolt retention and dual purpose lifting lugs. Stems shall be forged manganese bronze. Valves must come with all accessories for installation. T-bolts and nuts furnished with MCJ ends are to be stainless steel t-bolts (type 304-316) with Teflon coated nuts. All other external nuts and bolts are to be stainless steel for buried service. Valve Operators: Buried operators shall be provided with a 2-inch operating nut and turn counterclockwise to close. Operating nuts shall be painted red. In the event industry costs decline, the supplier/contractor must provide, to the City a reasonable reduction in prices/pricing that reflect such cost changes in the industry. The City will make a written request to the supplier/contractor for a Price Adjustment in writing with supporting documentation. Supplier/contractor may negotiate pricing for subsequent extension terms after the initial term under the provisions and instructions contained herein. Supplier/contractor shall submit in writing any proposed change in pricing for consideration at least sixty (60) days prior to the expiration of each contract term. Price changes accepted by the City will remain the same for the entirety of the renewal term.
