Description

Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) wishes to design and construct a new 52,000 square foot, multi-use building consisting of an educational and training facility that will be used for living-learning laboratory focused on information technology, automation / robotics, hospitality and entrepreneurialism. The building will include a theater for the performing arts, with scene shop, lighting lab, sound recording lab, green rooms and dressing rooms. The Culinary Arts program will have a 90-seat restaurant with advanced catering kitchen and a demonstration classroom with tiered seating and locker room. It will also contain an Action Link Center as a flexible conference space that links to the Hospitality and Tourism programs. The building will also include locker rooms, storage, and minor office space. The new East View Building is planned to be located on the Dandini Campus, on the southeast corner of the East Parking Lot, and will utilize the East Parking Lot as primary parking for this facility. The selected CMAR contractor will be placed under contract to provide pre-construction services and to provide the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submittal. The CMAR is expected to work side by side with the Architect and TMCC during all phases of the project. This includes, but is not limited to: geotechnical investigation, programming, schematic design and submission of the GMP after the design development or construction document phase is complete (at TMCC's discretion). The submission of the GMP effectively concludes the initial contract requirements. Should TMCC accept the GMP, it may enter into a single contract, or multiple contracts, with the selected CMAR contractor to complete the construction project or discreet portions thereof. This is at the sole discretion of TMCC.
